All That Remains, 2023
In All That Remains, hand-built anthropomorphic vessels in unglazed stoneware are presented in a museological cabinet. At once bodies, containers and artefacts, these ceramic objects invite comparisons to archaeological finds and resonate with Freud’s metaphor, in which the psychoanalyst uncovers traces from the past much like an archaeologist. By evoking personal histories of birth, death and mourning, the works also act as records of transformation, holding traces of emotional experience while reflecting the universality of human fragility, resilience and the cycles of life.
